Youth Counselling

Now more than ever, many teens struggle with anxiety, depression, and the impact of traumatic experiences. With the right supports, it is possible for youth to learn skills and tools to manage their emotions and feel empowered in their mental health.

Youth Counselling Approaches

Art Therapy

Art therapy is great for youth, because it allows them to create art about their challenges when talking about it might be difficult. I provide both structured and unstructured prompts to help kids to open up and explore what's going on.

ACT

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is about learning skills to work with emotions and helping teens identify the values and things that matter most to them. Youth will learn mindfulness skills and work towards their goals.

EFFT

Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) capitalizes on the natural healing power that parents have. Parents will learn new skills and feel better prepared to support their youth's emotional ups and downs.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a type of trauma therapy that uses eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation to process disturbing or traumatic life events. It can also be used with children and youth!
